Hussey Thomas [Male] b. ABT 1630 England - d. 06 FEB 1700 Charles Co, MD

Thomas Hussey, entered the Province as an indenture, but was a styled Gent. This indicates that he was "a scion of the English gentry". His signature is found on documents which proves that he was educated --an accomplishment not always attributable to many of the early settlers. He became one of the interesting characters of the early days and once wrote to Lord Baltimore that he had been robbed by the Indians "of alle but the clothes on my bodye".

He contracted numerous marriages, and while it is not clear whether he professed the Roman or Anglican faith, it is known that his second wife was a Catholic, the religion which was imparted to their two daughters. Source: The Lucketts of Portobacco, MD.

Thomas Hussey died at the beginning of the eighteenth century, and by his will, proved October 14, 1700, he devised his grandson and namesake, Thomas Hussey Luckett, 1,310 acres of land at Chingamucon (Chicamuxen) which lay in Durham Parish, the western-most portion of the county.

One posting on Ancestry.com gives Katherine's maiden name as Moreland.

Joseph Sarratt, the Immigrant ancestor, is believed to have been born about 1675, Possibly in France. The exact place of birth is unknown. He died before 18 Jan. 1715, at the age of 40 years, in Prince George's County, Maryland.
Joseph married Katherine, last name unknown. She was born about 1675, and died ?.
It's thought that Katherine had at least three children with Joseph.
Their children were, SUSANNA SURRATT, born about 1700. She married HENRY DICKERSON
Samuel Surratt, born about 1708. He married Ann Unknown.
Joseph Surratt, born about 1710. He married Mary Unknown.

A year after the death of Joseph Surratt, she married William Lewis in Prince George's Co., MD.
Nothing else is known about this marriage or whether there were any children.

The first record found of the first Surratt in America was on 18 Jan. 1715, in Prince George's County, Maryland.
"Katherine Surratt. Samuel Weighell, and Evan Jones all of the County of Prince George, Providence of Maryland, put up a Bond at the Court of Said County of 60 pounds Sterling, in order to have Katherine Surratt to be named Administratix of the goods and chattels of Joseph Sarratt, deceased."
It is assumed that Katherine Sarratt was his wife, since the consent of wives was always obtained in Maryland in the sale of property, and the welfare of women and their rights to estates was
considered beneficial to the community. Katherine Sarratt was ordered to present an Inventory before the 16th. day of March, 1715 in order to pay Joseph's debts. The following is a estimate the ages of their children at the time of their fathers death, Susanna, age 15. Samuel, age 7. Joseph, age 5.
Joseph's estate was not settled until 03 May, 1717

No land records have been found for JOSEPH SARRAT, property in Prince George's County, but it's known he was a large farmer, because of his Inventory presented to the court on 24 Feb. 1715.
On 16 Oct. 1716, an additional Inventory was presented to the Court by Mrs. Katherine (Unknown) Sarratt Lewis, Wife of William LEWIS.
