George was a ruling elder in Bethany Church. Buried in the Allison corner of Bethany graveyard.
They lived near the top of the hill, the first home beyond Lundy's Bridge, on the Jennings Road. The great rock chimneys of the home were still standing in 1934.

From the "Biography of Panthea (Sharpe) Allison by her great great grandson:

She was daughter of James and Jane Sharpe, was born in Iredell Co. N.C. August 26, 1789. Her father was one of the early settlers of that county. Panthea married George Allison, the son of William Allison, another pioneer. Children: James, William, Jane, George, Nancy (our line) Joseph, Panthea, Anna, Mary Lovina, an infant, stillborn, and Delia, born 1832.
Panthea may be best remembered for the minute record she kept of the approximately 500 babies she delivered in Iredell Co. between 1818 and 1856, including her own grandchildren.
When her baby Delia and her husband moved to the distant state of Iowa, she went with them, in the summer of 1856, and died there in 1868.

Before the Revolutionary War, James Sharpe and his brothers, John, Joseph and
Walter, immigrated to what is now Iredell , NC, when it was wilderness. James
and Jane Andrews Sharpe made their home on the north side of the S. Yadkin
River nr. Chipley Ford. James served as a private in the NC Militia during the
Revolutionary War. He served in the Light horse service, under the command of
his brother, Captain Joseph Sharpe. he was also in the Battle of Kings
Mountain on Oct. 7, 1770.

His marker in the Snow Creek Cemetery reads:
In memory of James Sharpe
who departed this life
July 22, 1828, aged 77 years.
Has DAR marker.

Sons-in-law, GEORGE ALLISON and Andrew Morrison are executors. Daughter Panthea (married to George Allison) is not in her father's will.
Names of children were taken from a Pioneer Certificate obtained from the Genealogical Society of Iredell County, NC. The Certificate states that James Sharpe settled in Iredell Co. in the 1770's while it was still Rowan County.

Children mentioned in this will: William, John, James Sharpe of North Carolina (our line), Joseph, Samuel, Walter (deceased), Isbel Wallace, Sarah Reed, Thomas, Mary Plymoten, Elizabeth, second wife Mary and children (minors) Amos, David, Ebenezor.

Thomas was for forty years an elder in the Rock Creek Church. His farm was "Sharpe's Industry."

The pioneer Sharpes came to this country with the Scotch-Irish immigration
which began about 1698. By 1776 there were 400,000 in America. The 1790
census lists 217 Sharpe families in America with 36 in NC. Joseph Sharpe came
with his son, Thomas Sharpe, Sr. to Cecil Co., Md. before 1718. he settled at
Fair Hill, Cecil Co., MD. with Thomas who named his plantation "Sharpe's
Industry."
Thomas Sr. gave the land for Sharpe's Graveyeard and helped establish Rock
Creek Church nearby. He was a member of the Cecil Co. Committee of Safety.
Thomas Sharpe, Jr., son of Thomas Sr., served in the Revolutionary War at Kings
Mt.(see his record).

and later made the trip to Statesville, NC on horseback, taking turns carrying
their earthly possessions. Their children were: George, Wallace, William,

In his will of May 7, 1845- Feb 1846, Asa Johnson left his plantation to wife Sarah in the care of Asa S Johnson and use of Negroes Barney, Pinkney, Polly, Delph and her youngest child, then to Asa. Son Jeremiah to have Negroes Milus and Jim and 65 acres where son Amos lives. Daughter Courtney Sharpe to have Negroes Albert, Harriett, William. Daughter, Lydia Tomlinson to have Negroes Stephen and Caty. Son Wilson to have boys Curtis and Amos in trust to son Asa for use of daughter Elizabeth Tomlinson, then to her children the Negroes Adaline, Mary, Vera, Wesley. Grandchildren Sarah Stone, Caroline Jane, Pinkney and Amos Johnson.
Executors, son Asa S. Johnson, son-in-law Clayborne J. Sharpe; witnesses M. Campbell, Thomas J. Robb.

A note at the end of the "Charles Lovelace" info from Iredell Co. Genealogical Society:
Asa Johnson's descendents have been good, substantial, upright citizens. Most or all of his children owned slaves. While some have belonged to the Baptist demonination, most of his descendants have been identified with the M.E. church, South. Quite a number have been connected with the Masonic fraternity. While dark hair and eyes are common among them, light hair, blue or brown eyes and fair complexion have generally predominated.
Also in this article was the mention of many family members moving to Cherokee Co. Alabama. The date given was 1854. Wilson Johnson and Elizabeth were already there.

Have letter from A.S.Johnson to J.T.Johnson from Goshen Ala. Aug 22, 1875. He sends news of crops and neighbors. He mentions other family members - Panthea, Allie. Also "and now you say you are going to marry, but don't even tell who she is, whether she is pretty, smart, rich or what". And....... your Ma has a fine quilt and bed for you.
