Funeral services for Mr. Frank P. Flew, age 61, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2011 at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Bluff Cemetery.Mr. Flew died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Regional Hospital of Jackson.He was born June 20, 1949 in Jackson, TN, the son of the late Frank Thomas Flew and Patricia Vawter Flew. Mr. Flew served in the U.S. Army, was a member of Maple Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and was an avid golfer. He retired from Future Optics, where he was Founder and President.Surviving are his wife, Delores Evans Flew of Jackson, whom he married July 5, 1969; a daughter, Glenda Flew Arnold and husband Brian of Jackson; two brothers, George Flew and John Flew, both of Jackson; a sister, Cissy Flew Nichols and husband Tom of Beech Bluff; two nieces, six nephews, and other relatives and friends. -

Vawter Elizabeth Ann [Female] b. --Not Shown-- Missouri

Richard Quinton Vawter Rich, 79, passed away on October 21, 2013 in Colorado Springs, CO. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Irene M. Vawter "Skippy" at Arlington National Cemetery. He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Vawter, his grandchildren Larry V. Browne Jr of Salida CA, Valarie Bruno, and his great grandson Massimo Young, both of Colorado Springs. At Rich's request there will be no formal service.

Mr. Vawter was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma but was raised in Will County. He ran the Herald-News newsroom for five years in the 1960s.
His very first relationship, to Christine Snevely, finished in divorce. His second spouse, Irene Maher, whom he married in 1969, died in 2009.

Survivors contain a daughter from his first relationship, Elizabeth Ann Vawter of Colorado Springs two grandchildren and an excellent grandson.
