Vawter Richard Quinton [Male] b. 22 APR 1934 Oklahoma - d. 21 OCT 2013 Colorado

Richard Quinton Vawter, "Rich", 79, passed away on October 21, 2013 in Colorado Springs, CO. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Irene M. Vawter "Skippy" at Arlington National Cemetery. He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Vawter, his grandchildren Larry V. Browne Jr of Salida CA, Valarie Bruno, and his great grandson Massimo Young, both of Colorado Springs. At Rich's request there will be no formal service.

Mr. Vawter was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma but was raised in Will County. He ran the Herald-News newsroom for five years in the 1960s.
His very first relationship, to Christine Snevely, finished in divorce. His second spouse, Irene Maher, whom he married in 1969, died in 2009.

Survivors contain a daughter from his first relationship, Elizabeth Ann Vawter of Colorado Springs two grandchildren and a g.grandson.
