From findagrave: James Tilford Pike
JAMES TILFRED PIKE married MARY JANE VAWTER on November 12, 1841 Tishomingo County, Mississippi, daughter of JOHN LEWIS VAWTER and wife, RHODA MCGUIRE. His nickname was "Jacky."
Parents: JOHN PIKE and MARY CHOAT of Robertson County, Tennessee. The Pike Family Bible recorded J. T. Pike as JAMES TILFRED PIKE. His mother is not Mary Tilford. With extensive research, the evidence leans toward the fact that she is MARY CHOAT. In the James Tilfred Pike Bible, there is a recording: Grandmother DOSHA CHOAT died the 4th of March 1855. Also, recorded is VALENTINE CHOAT, who died the 9th day of May 1855. Looking at the 1820 census, it is possible that JAMES TILFRED had a twin brother and was probably named JOHN ALFRED, who died young. His mother was sixteen years old, when the birth took place.
More info about their 8 children is included.
