A note at the end of the "Charles Lovelace" info from Iredell Co. Genealogical Society:
Asa Johnson's descendents have been good, substantial, upright citizens. Most or all of his children owned slaves. While some have belonged to the Baptist demonination, most of his descendants have been identified with the M.E. church, South. Quite a number have been connected with the Masonic fraternity. While dark hair and eyes are common among them, light hair, blue or brown eyes and fair complexion have generally predominated.
Also in this article was the mention of many family members moving to Cherokee Co. Alabama. The date given was 1854. Wilson Johnson and Elizabeth were already there.
